eBookform at www.ebookform.com (site, we us, our) enables anyone, particularly high school students, to collaborate with their teachers, family and community to collect oral histories, life stories and photos into a print-ready digital book product.
Your book’s content is private until you share it with others. You can share your book online while you have a subscription or download a PDF to print/share.
We do not sell any data about you or advertise anything to you. We make money by selling book licences to schools or sponsors, to assign to students as an educational project. And selling printed books to customers when requested.
We use security industry best practices, such as encryption of your data in transit and when stored. All data is stored in AWS Cloud Services, offering the best digital security in the world.
Your book and its contents belong to you and you can download, save and share at any time.
We may collect information from teachers, students, parents/guardians and family members who create an account or upload information to eBookform.

We will never use your information to target advertising at you based on your behaviour or data. We will not build a profile on you, other than for supporting authorized educational or school purposes.
We will work with teachers or schools, as far as we are legally able to accommodate your directions regarding our treatment of personal data belonging to your students. This includes adhering to a school’s requests after the eBookform technology is no longer in use or after this policy is terminated or expires in relation to transfers of students’ personal data, deleting students’ personal data and making sure third parties that work in connection with eBookform do the same, in each case subject to our legal requirements regarding the use, storage and transfer of such data. You can request that we provide you with written confirmation of the deletion of your data.
For US educational institutions we will work with you to ensure mutual compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA is a Federal law that protects personally identifiable information in students’ education records from unauthorized disclosure. It affords parents the right to access their child’s education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. As a parent you may request to access or review your student’s records at any time by contacting your child’s school directly.
Other people may be able to see your book content and name when you share your book with other people.
All information collected through eBookform is stored on AWS Cloud servers and hosted in the country where the book creator resides, when possible. We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data when it is transferred to AWS Cloud, and AWS participates in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield arrangement. This means it safeguards your personal data appropriately.
Sometimes you may want to upload information about other people as a part of the eBookform book you create, such as; photos, audio recording, and text. Please do not use this unless you have that person’s consent (or their parent’s/guardian’s consent, if applicable).

Additionally, we conduct regular security audits on these services and access to this data is restricted to only authorized employees/contractors of eBookform, with suitable training and background checks.
In the unlikely event of an unauthorized disclosure of your data, we will notify you by email and act in accordance with our legal requirements to resolve such disclosure and prevent any future unauthorized disclosure.
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information and we will try and send this to you as soon as possible (or at least within one month of receipt of the request).
You can ask us to correct any information we hold about you that is inaccurate. You can ask us to delete your account and any associated personal data at any time.
You can ask us to restrict our processing of your account (which means we will only store your account data and not do anything further with it) in certain circumstances, such as where you think your account data is inaccurate and we need time to verify the data.

We do not keep your information for longer than we need to for the purposes listed in this policy.
We will only keep your information for as long as your account is open and you can request this be deleted and all associated personal data at any time.
We have the right, after notifying you, to delete any books and information stored on eBookform.com, if you haven’t used your account after 12 months. You can download books at any time and it is your responsibility to download books if you do not want to lose that content.
We host your book and associated content for 12 months from the opening of your account. You will be notified one month before your book’s hosting contract expires, and again 7 days before, to download all of your content, including audio files. Six months after this 12 month anniversary date your book and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
eBookform uses digital ‘cookies’ to distinguish you from other users. The cookies we use are ‘analytics’ cookies. These allow us to recognise and count the number of users we have and to improve FamiyBookform and your experience when using the technology. We may also use functionality cookies to recognise you when using eBookform and for the login process.
You can block cookies through your browser settings, but if you do you might not be able to use eBookform properly.
Most cookies used expire when you close your browser, but some are stored and used to remember your app settings.
Sometimes we may need to change and update this policy. We will not reduce your rights under this policy, use your data for purposes not covered by it, or lessen the security of your data without your consent. We will post any changes within the policy, so you should check the policy regularly for any changes. If the changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice within eBookform and will provide you with advance notice of the changes by email.
